Reading a used book

A quaint smell stretches out its arms from within the pages, the smell of all those hands that had once held the book with so much love.
'arf arf' barks a dog-ear 'here's an enchanting page', and another tugs at you 'this is where my reader drifted into a catnap'.
Nifty creases running all along the yellow pages hint at all the hidden paths in the book.
A pencilled star winks at you from the corner of a page; somebody has been willing to share with you a moment of epiphany.
Tea colored wishy-washy clouds and greasy smudges; clearly words were not the only ones devoured.
And somewhere a lonely soul once sat clutching at this book so hard as though it could steer a way through life, so hard that the book was moved and loosened its binds

...one hasn't even started reading the book.

Just amazing scribble reshma... Shows what amazing talent you have got to capture certain emotions in words.

(Thanks to Thulasi: but for his shared list I could not have found this blog)

Wow...!

Wheren't my self imposed loneliness directed, though unknowingly, to the difficult aim of finding moments like this? The moments,so fragile, that you are even scared to touch it?. This is what I have been eagerly looking for.. That faintly palpable feeling, as though being touched by a feather, which I have felt so rarely..I look for it..I keep my arms outstretched for it.. Have you for any chance read this?

"...or as you walked under an open window, a violin yielded itself to your hearing.
All this was mission. But could you accomplish it?
Weren't you always distracted by expectation, as if every event announced a beloved?"

Thats the beauty I look for...and you could reach it. Grapple with heaps of steal what you have got in you..it is worth thousands of words being scattered over in the web..Keep it safe.

Good going...

Abdul

(Thanks to Tulsi for taking me here..And he,by the way, is another bee who without doubt finds the most sweet honey..and freezes it in colors and words)

Manu, shukriya:)

Prophet of frivolity, I tried reading the elegy, but it glided off:)

Resh,

Glad to learn that the outcome was exactly in the line of expectation. Rilke is meant to glide off..provided you glide off with him...:-)

Resh,
How true, how very true.
And the book keeps u glued to it even after the tale has been told , and the last paragraph read.U keep groping, seeking for someone who was , once, but not anymore!

A ceremony is like a book in which a grate deal is written.
One ceremony often contains more than a hundred books...!

excellent allegory of emotions.sometimes reading an used book means re-living a part of someone else's foregone life.

Thanks to thulasi for showing me the way.
